What is Aptis ESOL?

Aptis ESOL is developed by the British Council and regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) in England. It assesses English language proficiency in all four language skills—Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing—across levels from A1 to C2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

Where Can I Use the Aptis ESOL Qualification?

What is the Test Format?

Aptis ESOL is taken on a computer during supervised, face-to-face sessions at our school (an authorized testing centre).

 

When and How Do I Get the Results?

 

Digital Results are delivered in .pdf format within 48 hours.

 

Test Options & Levels

There are 3 distinct types of Aptis ESOL tests available:

Aptis ESOL General

  • Designed for candidates testing levels A1 to B2 on the CEFR.

Aptis ESOL Advanced

  • Designed for higher proficiency levels from B1 to C2 on the CEFR, featuring more complex tasks.

Aptis ESOL for Teachers

  • Tailored specifically for educators. Content relates directly to teaching scenarios, following the standard format for levels A1 to B2.

Yes. Companies, organizations, and academic institutions can use Aptis ESOL to validate the English levels of candidates, employees, or students to ensure they meet required proficiency standards.

  • Test-Only Option: If you have an urgent request to take the test only, please contact us to check availability. The standalone test fee is £80.
